By Richard Pagliaro - Nathalie Tauziat will close the book on her professional career attempting to author a successful finale for France in next month's Fed Cup final. The 33-year-old Tauziat said she has been asked to represent France when it travels to Madrid, Spain for the Fed Cup final, scheduled for November 7-11th.

The 11th-ranked Tauziat was a former Fed Cup standout until two years ago when she wrote a controversial book on the women's tennis tour, which contained criticism of some French players. After publication of the book, Tauziat had a falling out with some of her French teammates, who did not want to play with her on the French Fed Cup or Olympic teams.

Sixth-ranked Amelie Mauresmo and 15th-ranked Sandrine Testud are among the other players expected to represent the French team, captained by Guy Forget. France opens the event against the Czech Republic on Thursday, November 8th.

Tauziat, who announced she will retire at the end of this year, has apparently made amends with her teammates and is looking forward to concluding her career in the Fed Cup final.

"Two days ago captain Guy Forget phoned me to ask me if I felt capable of coming back with the French team," Tauziat told the French newspaper L'Equipe. "I said yes straight away. To be in Madrid with the French team would be for me the most beautiful way of ending my career."
