What a shock! She went in 1-3 against Lisa, and I thought it would be more of the same.

Then again, her only win against Lisa came at Birmingham in 1999. ;)

May play Daniilidou next....

This is grass. Tammy is an entirely different creature on grass..... her game starts to come together and her flat shots work very well. :)

I wonder why she can't do this on clay
That is good question.
Tammy's game isn't clay court game. She is hitting the ball flat and she takes to hit the ball early for getting control the point first. Tammy is kind of lack of patience when having long point rallies and she isn't moving well on clay.

Most of clay specialists started to hit the ball on clay when they were young. They are moving well and know well how to win the points, they are kind of having mental game when having long point rallies. Unfortunately Tammy and Paradorn can't do that because we don't have clay court to practice in Thailand.

There are a lot of clay tournies a year compared to grass tournies. Most of clay specialists can boost up their ranking when they play on clay. That is the reason why clay specialists (PISTOLESI, CLARISA, PAOLA,....) are playing this week in Vienna instead of playing (warming up) grass tourney. I'm pretty sure Tammy will be ready in top 20 if they put a lot more grass tournaments a year. Unfortunately there are only 2 grass tournies between RG and Wimby.

Good point, Jiro. Most Asians love playing on grass, just imagine how much higher they would be ranked if there were more grass tourneys...

I'm sure Tammy would be ranked much higher than she is now if there were, but sadly there aren't.

I agree with you that most Asians love playing on grass. Tammy, Angie, Asagoe are example who like playing on grass. Tammy and Angie were Wimby Junior runner up and champion respectively.

I'm surprising  why they still have clay tourney even right after Wimby. Hope Wimby organizer will be considering to moving forward the schedule a bit so that they can put a lot more warming up grass tournaments between RG and Wimby.

She made the 4th round consecutive 5 years in a row in Wimby. :hearts: She will be ranked around 33 by next week after defeating Lisa yesterday. She is trying to get into top 32 otherwise she may not be seeded in Wimby this year.

Hope Tammy will be playing well to dominate Eleni today.

C'mon Tammy.
