As you probably know, I'm going to the adidas International in Sydney on the 11th of January. This will be Daniela's first tournament of the 2004 season, so I'd like to get her year off to a great start by giving her a really nice gift from the Cocktail Party. I'm aware that some people are planning on spending some time away from the board, but I would like to get their input as well. We have approximately 2 1/2 months in order to find the perfect present for Danielka.

If you have any ideas for gifts, list them in this thread. If you want to send something to me to give to Daniela, PM me and I'll give you my address. Once we have enough ideas, I'll start a poll so that we can vote on a final decision.

Is there an email address for the tournament organisers? I wonder if its worth asking if we, that is, a representative of the CP, could make a presentation to Daniela of a bouquet of flowers.

At first I had the idea of just buying a bouquet but that would leave either Martin or Kevin or whoever with the possibility of standing there like a lemon not being able to hand them over, but by asking if we could make a presentation or at least, have them presented to her by someone, we know that way she will get them.

What do you guys think of that idea?

Excellent idea, although you should have kept this quiet for Eastbourne and taken the glory yourself it's that good. Also, there will be a big CP presence there to witness it too and with the hopeful acquisition of PPs, this will ease the task further.

Well, I think I'll give her a bouquet at EB anyway, just wondered if you liked the idea for Australia as well.

Also, slightly :topic: but are we going to send Dani a Christmas card? and if we are, where do we send it?

I like the bouquet idea, but I agree with Bracey that we should just give it to her at EB when we have a whole bunch of people (hopefully) there.
I like the visor idea, and I don't think NIKE would mind, because it's not like we're a company trying to get her to adverstise for us. If that doesn't work a girl always likes a stuffed animal!

Ok, both is fine by me, just make it especially big and romantic at EB :lol:

Christmas card also very good, again we can write "Merry Christmas" in our respective languages but without an address, we've had it :sad:

Why would Nike throw a strop? If the visor is Nike branded and the "tick" is clearly visible, I dunno why another motif would be doing them harm.
Personally, considering there is no evidence she wore the CP necklace, I think it is doubtful she would wear a visor if we sent one to her anyway. :tears:

Yeah- every youg women in her age like to get some beautiful flower's... It's worth trying....

For Sydney I like the idea with the visor... but we don't know, wheather she is allowed to wear him.... You know - it's all about buisness.... But the visor would remember Dani everytime, that behind her are some good fans, who always give her support. Maybe it would help her in some difficult situations....
The idea with the CD I personally dislike....

But maybe we could arrage to hand in the gift in Eastbourne officially in front of the public..... May be interdruced by a speaker.... So some more people would notice us.....

But this we can't do so often..... So mybe onetime....
And maybe someone is a good painter..... So we can hand in a special potrait of Dani from US- maybe with her two biggest successe's- Indian Wells and Fedcup....
So a picture- signed by CP and flower's......

whoa, whoa, whoa......you guys actually gave her a necklace??!! wow!!! did she ever wear it? which one was it?? was it that one thats, like, white, and that one that she used to wear alot?? or.....did she not wear it yet?

Maria, we don't know if she liked it, I'm sure she likes it in a certain way. It's like getting a present from someone you don't know. The intention is what counts, though.

I'm not against another cd, how about this and the bouquet of flowers at Eastborne, that would rock! The visor idea is cool too, I'd like to buy her a green or orange one, she would look gorgeous for sure! :bounce:

The necklace was pink with a dash of white, pink shells

I sent it to Jan (danielkafan) and he gave it to Daniela, along with our CP card in Leipzig.

so far, from recent pictures, Daniela has not worn our neckace yet... sigh... we'll see

I dont mind if Daniela liked the necklace or not :shrug: her choice if she wants to or not.. and I wasnt suggesting that we make a cd... thats tttooooo soon.

I mean, they give them to the finalists of the Australian Open, so Daniela will get a really nice stuffed toy when she wins the tournament :bigclap:

Do you think that we should get her more than one gift? Perhaps something that reflects Australia and then some other things as well?

I just realised that if you have a look at the My Finest Hours Daniela clip, you'll see that Daniela and Kevin were given stuffed kangaroos when they won the mixed doubles. If we give her a stuffed animal, we might jinx her. I'd rather Daniela get the stuffed animal from the AO organisers than from us :lol:

Whatever we decide to give Daniela, we could try to present it to her officially rather than grab two seconds by a practice court. It's worth a try, so do you want me to fire off some emails?

Well, we put a lot of time and effort into supporting Dani and we want our gratitude to be given at least the remotest shread of recognition.

Graham, I'd be very grateful if you did e-mail these people. Would there be any method of viewing our presentation to her? Or could we get a picture/audio?
