As you probably know, I'm going to the adidas International in Sydney on the 11th of January. This will be Daniela's first tournament of the 2004 season, so I'd like to get her year off to a great start by giving her a really nice gift from the Cocktail Party. I'm aware that some people are planning on spending some time away from the board, but I would like to get their input as well. We have approximately 2 1/2 months in order to find the perfect present for Danielka.

If you have any ideas for gifts, list them in this thread. If you want to send something to me to give to Daniela, PM me and I'll give you my address. Once we have enough ideas, I'll start a poll so that we can vote on a final decision.

why not make her a collage or something. she might appereciate the personal effort you put in. although it's not the best gift but it's a nice gesture.

otherwise get her something interesting.

Does anyone know the protocol for presenting someone with flowers? Are you supposed to give a kiss on each cheek like the French do?
I don't think that I could handle it

kiss on each cheek, kiss on one cheek. i'm not sure. but you could always go the safe option and grab her hand and put your other hand on top. you know you grab her hand like you're about to kiss her hand but instead of kissing it you put your other hand on top of hers (sorry it's the only way i can explain it).

don't listen there are 2 sides to everything. sure she may not want a portrait of herself but on the other side of things she'd probably (hopefully) would really appreciate all the work you put into it plus the fact that you're giving her a gift.

a great idea. here's another, it might sound stupid because alot of tennis centres look the same, but how about a portrait of indians wells, being her first tournament win she might like that to remember it by.

Rather than doing a landscape, take landmarks from Rome and merge them together, for instance, The Coliseum, Stadio Olimpico, Vatican City, etc.

sort of like in a cartoon when they make the landmarks more prominant than everything else.

but now someone suggested Indian Wells so which one do i do??

i say you're drawing it so you should make the decision. although maybe we could have a vote. but i'm not too fussed which one it is.

we have 4 options don't we? portrait of dani, portrait of rome, portrait of indian wells or to not do it at all. i think put those options forward and go from there.
