Actually if anything she struggled at the quarter-final stage. She lost many big quarter-finals in which she would have had a decent shot for the title: RG against Halep from a set and 5-1, Mertens in Australia, Podoroska at Roland Garros, Fernandez at US Open… I bet if she had won one of those, she would have at least made a final where her record is so good.
