I hope Svitty can get her head in the right place for the Australian swing, but she looked really drained in her loss to Paolini in the BJKC Finals.

It's the same as Bia; if you aren't emotionally in the right place to give 100% on the court in every match, it's better to take a break.

Not surprising, she hasn’t looked ok (either mentally or physically) for some time. She had a strong first half of the season, especially on clay, and I thought she was on her way to be back into the top 10 but since the grass season started she’s not been playing great apart from Montreal.
Ppl were talking about her weight loss in the result thread of the BJK Cup Finals and I’ve tried to find pics from the same position/angle to compare and that’s the best I could do

There’s a big difference. First pic is in 2024 Toronto, 2nd in Australian Open this year and 3rd is in Cincinnati last month :unsure2: Idk why she’s gotten sm skinnier than she already was but it doesn’t look healthy. I hope everything will be ok soon and she can come back stronger next season.

Svitolina's 2025 season spanned from the Australian Open to the BJKC Finals.

The period from the Australian Open to the French Open was particularly successful for her:

  • Australian Open: Quarterfinals
  • Indian Wells: Quarterfinals
  • Miami: Round of 16
  • BJKC Qualifiers: Qualified
  • Rouen: Winner
  • Madrid: Semifinals
  • Rome: Quarterfinals
  • French Open: Quarterfinals

Also, she reached the Quarterfinals in Montreal and the BJKC Semifinals later in the season.

It's unfortunate that she didn't make it back into the top 10, but let's hope for another chance next season.

don’t blame her. She played well this year and maybe she needs it even more now as she gets older although she said it was mental also.

but I would guess it also goes hand in hand too.

Tennis players play too much tennis :(
