Just when I'd given up on Katie, she has a run, go figure. Anyone have some details on what happened here? Katie's style is to return safely and as the rally progresses, push those returns out toward the edges. So I could see her either outlasting VJK or finding the eventual winner in rallies. What actually happened? (off to work, more research later)

Suzhou 125 SF: Volynets beats Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 75, 62
I watched it, but had two other matches overlapping so couldn't give it my full attention. Volynets landed 89% of first serves in play, and won five of her six second serves. I won't say that VJK gave up, but she certainly got more and more ragged as the match progressed, and was spraying errors everywhere by the end.
