BOGOTA, COLOMBIA (TICKER) -- Third seed Paola Suarez led a pair of Argentines who advanced to the quarterfinals of the $467,000 Copa Colsanitas claycourt event on Thursday.

Suarez rolled to a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Romania's Andreea Vanc and was joined in the round of eight by three unseeded players, including Colombia's Catalina Castano, who upset No. 2 seed Gala Leon Garcia of Spain, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.

Argentina's Maria Emilia Salerni defeated Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4, and France's Celine Beigbeder got past Alena Vaskova of the Czech Republic, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, in a battle of unseeded players.

Top seed Cristina Torrens-Valero reached the quarterfinals Wednesday with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over fellow Spaniard Spaniard Eva Bes.

In Friday's quarterfinals, Torrens-Valero takes on Paraguay's Neffa-De Los Rios; Suarez faces Colombian wild card Fabiola Zulaga; Beigbeder battles Slovakia's Katarina Srebotnik and Domingez Lino meets Castano.

The winner collects $27,000.
