Was just about to post another thread, but saw this in time so will cut and paste.

Cracking win for young Ferro there in front of a boisterous home crowd. Ferro had a 4-0 lead in the first set, but Wang came back well to actually serve for the set, but then went on to take the tie break anyway.

Just too many UEs for Wang in the 2nd and 3rd sets, she had over 50 overall, which is far too many at this level. I do like a good, vocal home crowd and they were really into it, although there was a bit mocking of the Wang errors towards the end, which isn't ideal.

When you see the likes of Ferro and Paquet in the QFs here, Muchova in the Prague F, British players having relative success in the grass period, that Colombian youngster in Bogota QF, and many other examples, it is a huge benefit if you are a leading player in a nation that puts on so many events (not that Czech and Colombia do that, just using as an examples of home success), and that certainly does look the case for Wang who obviously got so many of her points in that lengthy home swing.
