Of course I am German and Steffi is German, too, but that is not the reason. I was and am proud and happy that we had such a brilliant and succesful player but most of the times she won against my favorites - Chris Evert, Jennifer Capriati and Lindsay Davenport.Steffi won the Golden Slam in 1988, won 22 Grand Slam titles and was at the top of the rankings for 377 weeks. That is just a small part of what she reached in her amazing career.
My biggest memory: Steffi against Hingis in the final of the French Open in 1999. It was so emotional for me when she "killed" Hingis with her match point.
IMO, Steffi is the best player ever! What do you think?
