Hands down the best match of the season so far :worship::worship::worship:

This is how a tennis match between two top 10 players should be. You literally can see everything in this match - great attack, solid defence, delicate serve and shot placement, momentum shift, minor choking and comebacks. Both Petra and Julia are playing their hearts out but Petra is simply playing better tennis at last.

Looking forward to their next indoor match in Singapore :angel::angel::angel:

The easy draws for Julia end, first real big test and she failed.

A big match. Goerges had done everything right to win the first set, but still lost it because Petra was always the most aggressive (which is saying something since Julia was aggressive as well) despite being the least consistent, and it paid off by a thin margin. Julia's focus paid off in the second set on the other hand, but that's again the boldest play that got the last word in the decider, despite Julia fighting until the end. Petra loves to play against aggressive players, she enjoys the power flow. She struggles more against opponents making her move and generate her own power, at least on a long run. Petra's serve was big from start to finish, which of course helped a lot.

I loved this match. Petra is on fire! She has slimmed down significantly and thankfully it hasn't hampered her.

Excellent victory for Petra and into the final!

This is exactly the sort of tournament that she should be charging through and grabbing the points. Always good to see Goat-ra make an appearance. Run of beating Vesnina-Begu-Ostapenko-Goerges is commendable too.

Please carry on this form in the bigger tournaments to come in 2018. Wimbledon and Asian swing there for the taking!

Goerges played out of her mind. Making just single digit UEs in every set, running everywhere like Kerber and attacking that second serve of Petra every single time. She looks like a completely different player.

Petra was always going to have this match tough given their h2h. She was astounding on serve and atrocious on return except when she broke Goerges. If it's Kasaktina in the final, she might freak out to hit that extra ball. Hopefully it's Mladenovic.
