Game 54 - Isle of Misfits
Bob Marley - "No Woman No Cry"

SF - 13 (82 points), F - DNQ

I have picked a song from Bob Marley as my first ever entry in BSG. First time I had heard of Bob Marley was when I was really young, as one my nephew had listened on daily basis. It's the most beautiful song of him, I like how he sang with passion, and IMO live versions are a lot better than studio ones (in cases singers doesn't know to sing live, then autotune works well). "No Woman No Cry" is a vulture, how they described and I was quite shocked to see my song not being in final because I really like this song and I was touching the area. Still a good try and it will always have a spot in my music book. :)

Points distribution:
8 - fufuqifuqishahah, John.
7 - doni1212, histery, Leif, sfar
6 - Mustafina, Tezuka. (Kerber Counter)
5 - Wanderer
3 - Cesare Borgia, Milan., salmon pants.
2 - Elusive Chanteuse, N.M, Silent Bird, TennisFan102, Utautai

Game 55 - 70's

Pink Floyd - "Money"

SF - 15th (88 points), F - DNQ

This was my second entry. I can say that when I was 19, I had sent quite different music, as I used to listen to it.
Still, "Money" from Pink Floyd was another vulture I had sent (had no idea in that time it was a vulture and didn't know what does it mean), but in my memories, I had listened to this at one rock gig in my local town, so I decided to use it, because it's another song I really like. Another flop in semis, as this Era was so "anti-vulture".

Points distribution:
10 - Baraboo, Milan., Sarcher
8 - Cesare Borgia
7 - DJDVD, N.M
6 - dogwonder24, stromatolite, zvonarevarulz
5 - Wanderer
4 - Utautai
2 - AdeyC, Beat, histery, John.
1 - Mustafina

Game 56 - WTF?

Verka Serduchka - "Dancing Lasha Tumbai"

SF - 19th (71 points), F - DNQ

Third theme where I had participated was "WTF". I wanted to participate a song with no vocal qualities and that made my first impression as WTF. First time I saw Verka Serduchka and her gay dancers in silver costumes I spat the water.
Also, 2nd place at biggest musical contest in Europe was also another WTF aspect of my submission.

Points distribution:

Game 57 - My Best Kept Secret

The Weeknd - "Wicked Games"

SF - 18th (64 pts), F - DNQ

The next game had edition with this name "My Best Kept Secret". We needed to choose the song that you didn't share with anyone or the song that people might have not listened. I chose "Wicked Games" as I have heard this song first time in one Belgrade's games forum, somewhere in the underground. The song is chilling, and it perfectly fits the atmosphere with all those gamers in one object. I liked the song from first listen. :) I am still listening to his work, but I prefer early one.

Points distribution:
12 - Beat
8 - eck

6 - AdeyC, Silver Persian
5 - Litotes
3 - Monzanator, Sarcher

Game 58 - Instrumental
Final Fantasy VIII - "Eyes On Me" (fluke remix)

SF - 18th (77 points), F - DNQ

Well, it was my fault that I picked this song instead of superior ones, but I wanted to share the songs that I like. Final Fantasy is my favourite game and every part has its story and the soundtrack that is clearly superior to others... I wanted to send Zanarkand, but it was used, so I tried firstly with Lindsay Stirling, unfortunately, song was used. And that was my second choice (as I didn't know for many beautiful instrumental songs 2 years ago, had I sent Michael Ortega, I might have been a contender for Top 3).
Disappointing result as I like this fluke remix. Maybe synth was too cheesy, and the era was different. It was definitely like or hate song.

Points distribution:

10 - fufuqifuqishahah, salmon pants.

Game 59 - Light vs Darkness
Stevie Wonder - "Love Light In Flight"

SF - 17th (66 points), F - DNQ

The theme was Light vs Darkness, and I had no idea what to submit. So I did detailed search for this one. Found this soundtrack and I loved the song, also the video. I like those synths and catchy parts. Stevie Wonder is still a star in my eyes and I tried to get into the final, unsuccessfully. I was still trying, first song that won't be my first choice, but it had to be when I didn't have an idea.

Re: île de beauté de SRB Analyst - BSG Game History

Semifinal flops: 39
Making into the final: 39
Success rate: 50%

Up to Game 166.

Interesting stat: From Game 54 to Game 99, I had success rate 4/32, which is barely 11,11%.
With Game 166, I raised my success rate to 50%, it is 39/78. So that means in next 46 games I made into the final in 35 games of 46. That's why I liked and enjoyed more recent games, than my beginning. With game 167, I made into the final 40 times out of 79. DNQ songs I don't count, as people couldn't vote for them (it was 1), and one that Adey somehow didn't want to accept, as he thought I didn't vote enough times (I didn't vote 2 times, I could not do this 3 times in a row). I doubt it would have made into the finals, anyway, as it was Serbian entry.
sh*t bro, that is horrible :tape: and I thought I had it bad at times.
But good job getting it back on track. I think my overall success rate is the same as yours.

Re: île de beauté de SRB Analyst - BSG Game History

Well, at least the success ratio is now positive. If I hadn't play early games, I would have had 80% success rate or more.
As I said, you never know what will new theme bring, because the standard of the game and the players are changing. I can say it's my safe zone (these new editions). I can submit what I like and share the same taste with those good guys. :) Indie era was the darkest era for me.

Game 60 - New Discoveries
Empire Of The Sun - "I'll Be Around"

SF - 18th (88 points), F - DNQ

The next edition was "New Discoveries". I had thought that I should submit something that is not familiar to me, so I give it a try. People had submitted the songs from that band, when I wasn't playing. Still it's nice to see people liking this song. :)

Game 61 - Open
Jem and the Holograms - "Truly Outrageous"

SF - 22nd (66 points), F - DNQ

This edition was "Open". I have decided to submit a song from one Hasbro's cartoon that was classic and I like those duels between Jem and the Holograms and The Misfits. Still, Jem is my favourite character and I like the singer that tried to be in her skin.

Always the best memories, and if I ever decide to watch again this cartoon, I wouldn't be bored and I will do this again, for sure.

Game 62 - Your Favourite Rediscovery
Michael Sentello - "Maniac"

SF - 11th (104 points), F - DNQ

First mini heart-attack I have had playing this game, I was literally plummeted after seeing that my fave movie soundtrack missed the final by 1 point, and I gave 12 points to 10th placed song.
Michael Sentello is a good singer IMO, but what catches my attention is the dancer from this video. Those were times. Good films, great actors.

Game 63 - Songs of Tough Life and Death
Pantera - "Cemetery Gates"

Well, I chose this song as it perfectly fits the theme, and I like heavy metal. Kudos to people who don't like this genre. And thanks to voters!

Game 64 - Biology
Billy Strayhorn (piano) - "A Flower Is A Lovesome Thing"

SF - 8th (125 points), F - 15th (111 points)

Next theme was Biology. I decided to pick something I have heard in my primary school, where I had attended Music School. Especially during "sol-fa" classes and History of Music. And we have learned about music in past. This theme was also my breakthrough to show people that my musical taste is diverse and above the horizons. I ended up with that beautiful jazz song "A Flower Is A Lovesome Thing". How gently and well composed is that song describes mastery of Billy Strayhorn. His piano playing was one of the greatest thing I have ever heard, and ofc, those classes helped me a lot to understand the music from past. Jazz vocals are the most indelible in my honest opinion, and the games consists those players who liked to listen to it.

I am truly disappointed with final's placement, but given it was my first final, I was happy that some people liked it and awarded nice amount of points to this genius.

Semifinal's points distribution:
12 - Silver Persian
10 - Crux Squall, Honitsu, Shvedbarilescu, stromatolite
8 - fufuqifuqishahah
7 - AdeyC, John., Mustafina, Wanderer

Game 65 - BSG Discovered Artist
Marie Blanche-Vergne - "La Rose"

SF - 12th (97 points), F - DNQ

Next theme was BBSG Discovered Artist. I fell in love with magical voice of Marie Blanche-Vergne. Thanks to @Hugues Daniel for submitting her song in one of previous games, that leads to picking this song. :) I was hoping for final, but you can't please all those souls, unfortunately. :sobbing:

Game 66 - Peninsula of Misfits
Mother - "Ulali"

SF - 6th (128 points), F - 8th (139 pts)

About this theme I have to say that I had no idea if my song would be accepted, as I submitted group of American women that don't live on island, but their harmony and synchronously singing were out of world, so I am glad it was placed so high. I adore this song, as it is tribute to native American women. :) A strong message is in this song. :D

Games 67, 68 and 69 were abysmal for me, and look at my submissions. :tears:

69 Rita Ora ft. Iggy Azalea - Black Widow; 86 points, 15th in SF
68 Lena Kovacevic - Gora; Later the same song was submitted, but different artist and it qualified into final  57 points, 21st in SF
67 Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicky Minaj - Bang Bang; 74 points, 16 th in SF

Re: île de beauté de SRB Analyst - BSG Game History

I will update later.
BTW, guys I have great news for you! Even I had disgustingly bad record in my first 32 games, from Game 154, including this game, I have made into the final every time, expect 3 games I didn't play (157 Smilie, 158 Australia, 161 Open). And it was a good decision to skip those games. My ratio of making into finals raised to 42-39, including Game 169 (8 consecutive finals!!! which is my personal record) :D

Re: île de beauté de SRB Analyst - BSG Game History

8 finals in a row is very impressive. Meanwhile even attempting to string together 2 finals in a row has been a disastrous journey for me in recent times, even with decent songs.
