The US Open first round prooves to me that Maria Sharapova is definately the better player of the two. I noticed all along that Karolina seemed to be doing well at the lower events, but then she wasn't playing well on anything other than clay, nor did she perform well at Roland Garros. Masha seems to perform much better at the big events, and from what I've seen, has more talent. My final evidence is that Sprem lost her US Open first round 6-3; 6-2 to a player she could at least hit toe to toe w/ . Masha WON her match 6-1; 6-1 to a player that was supposed to give her trouble by using different spins and retrieving to no end. What do you guys think?

GO MARIA!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Maria is as talented as they come- aint seen sperm play but if she's meant to be more talented than maria where's the reults to prove it? Maria has been beating a few top players and taken a set of the world 1..

I've never seen Karolina play so I can't compare them. By the way she didn't do well at Roland Garros because she didn't even play it ;) I don't now how Meghan played but Virginia really didn't have nothing to hurt Maria.

I think some of you are being a little too hard at Sprem at this point. Her rapid rise in the rankings is due to the fact that although she is not ready for the top twenty, she definitely is one of THE most talented newcomers on the rise.

And come on people she did not even make the main draw of touraments until when? May?

She is a good player who has a chance to be a great player so give her a break. When she is ready to take that next step to be a bigger tennis player, you will know it.

Sprem lost to Shaugnessy who beat Venus, earlier this year on American Hardcourts.
Sharapova won against a non-specialist of harcourt player, Ruano Pascual. She won 6/1 6/1, but it spent 1 hour 14 minutes, because there were many deuces.
You definitely cannot compare !!!!!

But, I'm wondering if they ever playedd each other in a junior competition.

the only way to find out who is better is to get them to play each other. but sharapova lately has performed better in the higher events than sprem (although sharapova hasn't played any small events and sprem's ranking is to low to get into the bigger events)
