Well .... guys i saw all the asian players and i thought you would be interested to know how they have preogressed
Firstly i must say that Tamarine is looking in great shape ....
thin .... yet healthy.... very muscular and tanned. she is moving around the court better and better each time i see her.
She played Selima Sfar who had a good serve and thats about it....
Tammy played her usuall game ... solid and flat hitting.... she rarely needed to lift the pace of the ball much against Selima who frequently felt she was victimised by the line judges. This was routine win for Tamarine ..... she probably could have hit a few more winners today though. ...many Thai people were in the stands to watch her.
Wynne Prakusya has prooved to me today that she is a capable player...definently top 100..... solid backhand. excellent forehand. her forehand is hit very early and angled almost anywhere on court.... she's quite confident on it as well.....
Also her forehand is very low over the net.... she keeps her feet firmly on the ground when she hits it and gets down with the ball to lift it... she has a very nice game. She would frequently get into slugging contests with the bigger Myskina... often Wynne would end them with stunning forehand winners. But the next two sets Wynne lost easily... i think she got injured and just seems to fade away.
..... Wynne challenged Capriati so greatly on the hardcourts in America and today in her first set she showed some of that form.
Cho vs. Svatlana K.... was a brilliant match that i couldn't possibly say anough about..... Kusnetsova bashes the ball harder then any girls i have seen in the tourney yet.... especially off the forehand. This match was like watching Hingis vs. Williams on a smaller scale. Cho would often get to the net and be forced to hit an arkward volley.... which Svetlana would usuallly belt right at her ...but always to the crowds amazement Cho would stick her hand out amd get the ball back! ---- amazing to watch ....Cho lost but only because of the power on the other side.
lastly i will say i enjoyed watching Saori's lefty game.... not that hard hitting but she alwys keeps her oppoient moving all the time. Maria-Elena was just way too consistent despite the amout of long rallies in this match. Saori should work on putting more on her serve.
