Generation "Slack":
Dokic - doesn't seem to care that she's dropped 2 levels
Bovina - pulled a disappearing act
Myskina - lacking the consistency that got her Top 10
Danilidou - having probly the worst year of all of them
Hantuchova - everybody knows the story
A year ago few would have argued that these players were going to be ranked 6 through 10 by USOpen '03. Instead they have spent the year stinking up the tour with 1st and 2nd round losses. They can't even get any wins against each other because they are always seeded and they don't even win enough matches to reach each other in the draws.
And as always in tennis, if somebody's playing bad, somebody else is benefiting. So who on the tour has picked up the slack besides Vera Z, Kuznetsova and Sugiyama?
