Russian Sizikova cleared of match-fixing - lawyer

Russian doubles player Yana Sizikova has been cleared of match-fixing two years after her arrest at the French Open, according to her lawyer.

Russian doubles player Yana Sizikova has been cleared of match-fixing two years after her arrest at the French Open, according to her lawyer.

The 28-year-old was arrested at Roland Garros in 2021 as part of an investigation into match-fixing allegations dating back to the 2020 edition of the Grand Slam.
Sizikova, ranked 50th in doubles, has continued to play on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour since her arrest and will compete at this year's French Open, which starts on Sunday.

Unfortunately, proving match fixing in court is about as difficult as getting Raducanu and Osaka to practice for longer than 30 minutes.

Besides, if half of all dopers get exonerated - then what chance do prosecutors have with match fixing cases!

There should be zero tolerance for match fixing i.e. immediate life bans, but that's still in the realm of fantasy...

So using your weird logic you should be allowed to steal chocolates from stores, because "how is this relevant compared to serial-murders and rape"?

This is the same level of cheating. This girl lost or not lost game on purpope, singers pretend they sing live.
