Will #1 seed Amelie Mauresmo continue the tradition this year?

2002:
Serena Williams(2) d. Venus Williams(1) 7-6(4), 6-3
2003:
Serena Williams(1) d. Venus Williams(4) 4-6, 6-4, 6-2
2004:
Maria Sharapova(13) d. Serena Williams(1) 6-1, 6-4
2005:
Venus Williams(14) d. Lindsay Davenport(1) 4-6, 7-6(4), 9-7
2006:
?????

dear lord, i think every thread in the first page of GM are all limited to the same 3 or 4 subjects.

Venus
Serena
Momo isn't ready for Wimbledon
Schnyder sucks at grass.

It's all the same

yeah and the only number 1 seed to win out of those 4 was Serena. I wouldn't mind Mauresmo making the final and losing, just as long as the number 7 seed is there to beat her

With the form she was in Eastbourne she is not getting to the final
Eastbourne doesn't matter. It's a thorn in Mauresmo's shoe like Indian Well is for her. She deems it important to play even if it compliments other players games such as Kuznetsova and Clijsters. It's really just to get the footing down.

BTW, Venus performances at Wimbly are really impressive, execpt for 2004. Won 3 times and was runner up 3 times

But all those # 1 seed have one thing in common...!!! They were all Wimbledon Champions former or current...

Well...Momo could still reach the Final just like Lindsay last year n Venus in 2003.
Didnt Momo lose 2r/3r is Sydney just before a slam aswell....

She could, but I'm not very optimistic about it happening. The no. 7 seed, on the other hand....;)

Lindsay, Serena, and Venus are in a different UNIVERSE than Amelie when it comes to tennis in general, but especially grass. So don't think too much into it. It would be nice for her to make the finals,...but yeah, as long as #7 is there to beat her
