Was Makarova 12 years old then?

I love Serena, but honestly none of these wins (singles or doubles) are brag-worthy. And that's fine with me! I'm happy for her to save her energy.

Elena Makarova, not Ekaterina Makarova

But still an impressive stat :yeah:

Serena often picked only the "easy" USA ties
I think her best wins are Svitolina and Benesova (Melzer)

USA: S.Williams, V.Williams, Lepchenko, Keys
Argentina: Ormaechea, Irigoyen, Podoroska, Bua

Townsend is also traveling as an alternate / hitting partner, apparently.

Serena probably won't even have to play singles.

Lep and Keys should play singles and Serenus should play dubs.

No, they both suck on clay. And Lepchenko has a lung infection and could barely move vs Radwanska a few days ago.

Serena will 100% be playing singles unless she's crippled.

Should be an easy win for USA ! :cheer:

USA was incredibly lucky to draw Argentina. No drama. Good for our hearts

Day 1: Serena vs Argentina`s #2. Day 2: Serena vs Argentina`s #1

Mary Jo best have all 4 of them play a singles match, instead of forcing Serena to win 2 live rubbers to always dig the USA back into the WG.

Does anyone find it amusing that the stacked teams for Fed Cup, are never for actual WG ties? It really shows how unimportant the whole event is to everyone.

That`s not true at all

Did you watch last year`s Fed Cup final ?! CZE v GER (Kvitova, Safarova v Kerber, Petko, Sabine)
And this year GER v AUS (Kerber, Petko, Sabine, Görges v Stosur, Dellacqua, Gajdosova)
And POL v RUS (A.Radwanska, U.Radwanska v Sharapova, Kuznetsova, Pavlyuchenkova)

The truth is that`s USA`s problem. And NOT the problem of many other nations
