Biggest bad omen is when I’d see Alexis the Oaf sitting in her box. I immediately knew it was game over. Serena knew it too, that’s why she didn’t thank him in AO.
Serena won Wimbledon 2016 and AO 2017 with Alexis in her box. Drake's petty immature ass was the real hex. Serena wanted to be that girl so bad not realizing Drake was only as valuable as a dollar store toy. I haven't been a fan since. She also kept Mouratoglou around for too long.

Side note what was y’all’s “bad omen” during a serena match.

For me it was whenever she’d bring out a visor or hat esp in Australia 😭😭
If she didn't start the match with her standard slice 1st serve. I don't know why opponents didn't know when Serena serves first, she is going to slice the first serve almost every single time.

CrybabyRena sometimes did work for her though if she did it in patches and then re-focused. If she did it the whole match then yeah she was usually losing :toofunny: .
I agree, well, early on she could snap out of it. In her later years, not so much. 😂 Nightmares of her shouting at the skies about her serve like Jehovah was looking down being like, “not today, bitch… foot fault!”

Biggest bad omen is when Serena pulls out the cry baby face and negative body language.
I was gonna say, this face is normally a pretty bad omen, especially when a netcord goes against her:

I love Ons. She's actually made it so much higher than I ever expected. Crowd is always excited to watch her and she's introducing tennis to a whole new region. Someone adding character to the tour (a la Monfils, Li Na). She is not the best 'champion competitor' but she's a natural talent. I actually much prefer her flat, aggressive baseline game  than when she brings out the junkballing (a real grass specialist). I think people are also pretty harsh on her for not... what, winning a slam? When she's been injured for huge parts of the last few seasons and was never expected to even make the top 20 anyway.

There's also nobody else to support at the top of the game right now really. :unsure2:
  • Rybakina has the game of John Isner, and the personality of a wet sock.
  • I love Garcia but why is she standing 1 metre inside the SERVICE BOX to return serve?? (cue Cardi B "what was the reason?!")...
  • Iga is an amazingly consistent #1, but her groundstrokes are so janky and mechnical looking that her matches are borderline unwatchable, even her interviews feel very forced.
  • I want to love Coco ♥ But she seems incapable of playing a match that isn't an eyesore.
  • Sabalenka is my fav of the bunch, but sometimes she plays like a beheaded chicken (amazing when it lands in though).
  • Sakkari seems like a sweet girl but watching her matches can be a challenge for my mental health.
  • Kasatkina has the game of a 13 year old junior.
  • I almost forgot Pegula because she's literally just 'there' to me.

Speak on it! These girls coming for poor Alexis when all he's ever done was support her! Meanwhile they forget that nasty Aubredy gifted Stosur a slam with his bad mojo. And let's not even get in to Mastermind who's cheating ways cost us an entire season!

Ons was giving the men fits during the Tie Break Tens event. She is a good showy player. But it doesn't often translate well in to actual matches.

I like Rybakina. She's got the unbothered vibe peak Venus use to have. Just goes about her business on court. And I don't mind Sabalenak. She's got the crazy that I stan for sometimes. Swiatek I respect but her game is just so visually unappealing to me that I cannot watch her matches. And I can't get a read on her character. She is hyper competitive which I think helps her. She had daggers for Fritz at net after he tagged her during what was basically an exhibition :lol2:. Total accident but she was not having it.

Spot on recap of the lackluster personalities and games of the current top players. I think I’m finding myself cheering for Sabalenka, she’s finding some consistency and she has a bit of a personality at least. 😂 Andreescu is someone I could get behind if she gave a damn.

I’d love to see Sabalenka make Swiatek shed some tears in the final by rushing and overpowering her. Let’s see what happens, seems we are headed that for that showdown which would be good for the WTA.

I like that we have Sabalenka, Rybakina, Iga, and Krejickova regularly meeting it seems. For tennis it might not be great cuz they’re not that marketable (but together I think they have potential as long as they keep being consistent) but as a tennis fan I appreciate how they all bring a unique game style that’s entertaining in their own way.

I think Sabalenka is definitely marketable.

I don't dislike Iga or anything, but I am HERE for my ice queen Rybakina owning her. Krejickova too, even though I don't like her shady ass. Iga had it WAY too easy last year.
Yep, everyone with games that can beat her was injured or not in form last year. They beating her the fuck back this year.

Her serve tonight vs. Rybakina's was a kiii

I don't watch her enough but I thought Swiatek was mentally tough? But some of these girls really have her shaken up when they drag her.

I feel like she'll still do well during the clay season. But the girls with power really shouldn't give her a look at Wimbledon. Serena given Halep one was enough.

Back to the pack for Swiatek. It's going to be hard for her. She will almost always run into Rybakina, Sabalenka or Krejickova.
Krejcikova isn’t that big of an issue since she randomly peaks for one tournament out of the blue and then goes back to being irrelevant/ a doubles player.

She hasn’t made a Slam QF in over a year and usually loses to the first top player she meets at a tournament
