Selin made the final of a G5 in Amman a couple weeks ago! :awww:

She was the 8th seed there, beat Mubarka Alnaemi 0 & 1 in R1, Noor Omara 0 & 1 in R2, top seed Ferdaous Bahri 4 & 1 in QF and double-bagelled Mahin Qureshi (who upset 5th seed Lasheen in R1) :worship: but sadly she had to retire at 2-3 against fellow Turk Ozlem Uslu (2004 born) in the final, because of a shoulder injury :sobbing:

Sucks for her, hope it's not too serious :scared: :(

By making the final, she's jumped to a new CHR of 873 (+239) :yeah:

"Thank you guys for this week! It was more than awesome! all filled with happy, sad , hilarious and emotional moments miss u all #jordansquad#finals#injurysucks#gratefull"

Selin was back to competing at G5 Babolat Cup in Chisinau, Moldova, last week: she was the 3rd seed there, beat Eva Prokopenko 6-4 3-6 6-0 in R1, but fell to 16 yo Yelyzaveta Akimenko 4-6 5-7 in R2 :awww:

Akimenko went on to beat the 5th seed, then the top seed and then the 2nd seed to win the title ;)

An update on Selin's results in singles since my last post, which was a while ago :SNE: :tears:

This year: she's won 2 titles:
• a G5 in Antalya on hard in February: she was the 6th seed, beat (3)Ozlem Uslu (13 yo, #380) 7-5 2-0 ret. in QF, dragged (2)Beyda Baykal (15 yo, #340) 2 & 2 in SF and (14)Anna Chekanskaya (15 yo; routined (1)Akbas in R3) 1 & 4 in the final :yeah:
• a G4 in Istanbul on hard in May: she was the 4th seed, routined 17 yo (9)Ekin Ercetin 4 & 4 in the final :yeah:

She has 3 more SF appearances: at a Cat. 1 G16 in Italy on clay in March (she was the 3rd seed, destroyed 5th seed Daniela Glanzer 3 & 0 in QF and then got thrashed by 12 yo prodigy 2nd seed Linda Fruhvirtova, who cruised to the title 2 & 3 in SF ); at a G4 in Antalya on hard in March (she was the 7th seed, beat 3rd seed Alina Tsyurpalevych [15 yo, Top 400] 6-3 7-6(4) in QF :yeah: and fell to leftie top seed Weronika Baszak [15 yo, #231] 3 & 1 in the final ); and at a G5 in Denmark on clay in June (she was the top seed, got routined by 16 yo qualifier Cristina Mayorova Bakhtina, who went on to win the whole thing, 4 & 3 in SF ). :)

And also a couple of QFs in June, at the prestigious clay Cat. 1 G16 in Milano (she was the 13th seed, upset top seed Antonia Ruzic 6-7(1) 6-3 6-2 in R3 :hi5:, fell 6-2 2-6 2-6 to local 10th seed Asia Serafini, who got a set away from the title ;), in QF ) and then at a clay G4 in Denmark.

Surprisingly, she didn't play the U16 European Championships in Moscow last month. Hasn't competed in almost 2 months now. She's turning 15 tomorrow btw! :D :yippee:

In the final part of last year: she won a G5 in Istanbul on hard in October (she was the 8th seed, beat 16 yo 14th seed Mariya Poduraeva, who dragged top seed Manu in R3, 7-6(4) 5-7 7-6(5) in SF :scared: , and then 4th seed Ozlem Uslu 6-4 1-6 6-4 in the final  :bigclap:); then she made the QFs of big tournament held at the IMG Academy in Florida, U14 Eddie Herr (she was the 8th seed, beat 9th Emily de Oliveira 0 & 4 in R4, lost 6-3 4-6 4-6 to 3rd seed Clarine Lerby in QF :sobbing: ); and then, at her last tournament in December, she disappointingly bombed out in R1 of U14 Orange Bowl, the other prestigious American tournament, 4 & 1 to Julia Fliegner as the 9th seed. :[ :(

She started 2018 ranked #657, reached a CHR of 282 three weeks ago, and is currently #299. :bounce: Keep going! Hopefully she starts doing damage in G3s and higher in the 2nd part of the year! :cheer:
