Selin Övünç is another rising star coming out Turkey, she only 14 yr old & seem too be a very promising bright prospect, for sure, so far she two title this year one the 18&U Junior but made several finals. she Train a Justine Henin Academy, she is currently ranked at 274 in Juniors and she said that one of her goal is to be ranked inside the top 100 by the end of the year for she can play the junior slam come next year. Just saw Selin was in the MD of 10K Antalya, using a MDWC. And it appears this is her very first pro tournament! ;)

Sadly she lost to Fanny Ostlund (a Swedish 18 yo who reached a CHR of 129 in juniors this year, and is at a pro CHR of 805 this week ;)), 3-6 6-4 0-6. :awww:

Looking at the R2 results, Ostlund then thrashed Sofia Dmitrieva 1 & 0 in R2 - which surprised me because Dmitrieva scored an excellent win over 6th seed Lisa-Maria Moser in R1, 3 & 0.
So I guess Selin must have played a pretty good match! :yeah:

Selin made the SFs at G2 Condor de Plata Tournament in Bolivia this week :)

She was the 7th seed there, had a bye in R1, beat Laura Sofia Rico Garcia 6-3 7-5 in R2, (12)Fernanda Labrana 6-3 3-6 7-6(5) in R3, and (3)Camila Romero (#133) 6-7(5) 6-3 6-3 in QF :yeah:
She lost to (1)Yuki Naito (#58) in SF yesterday, 3 & 3

I think that thanks to this run she will break into the Top 200 for the first time next week! :bounce:

So happy she was able string some win together, hopefully this mean she found some form, I was hoping she make finals but if an SF mean she break into top 200 I happy with that. I hope she can make top 100 before end of the yr
