Monica Seles defeated Martina Navratilova 7-6 6-4.

This was a hell of alot closer then I thought.

Well done to both Ladies.

I think both Martina and Monica would of enjoyed the match very much.

Martina would be happy with the score.

The crowd would most likely of seen some good tennis.

Everyone is a winner

At that age .... to challenge a ball smacker like Seles and do a little more then scare her, is very impressive from Martina - she still has it

It must have been a great match. I was in Milan for the Seles vs Navratilova final in 1991 and after more than 10 years I still consider it the best match I've attended in a tournament.

Does this mean even a veteran player in her 40s who hasn't played singles for years is better than Anna Kournikova!?!

I'm quite sure Monica let Martina win a couple of games so the public had something to watch, don't you think? I mean it's unbelievable that Martina did better than Anna.

Pretty impressive scoreline for the old gal. Granted, it was an exo, and there was probably a bit of generosity on Monica's part, but Martina had to play reasonably well to keep it close enough so the match padding wouldn't be too blatant.

Anyone here see the match? I'm hoping it will be picked up nationally by FSN.

Looks like Martina is using a Prince racquet now. And wearing Puma. Does she endorse these companies or did she have to buy them like everyone else? Do players stop being sponsored by their clothing and racquet companies once they retire?
