Shanghai, China (Sports Network) - Monica Seles stretched her winning streak to 13 matches following a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Australian Nicole Pratt in Sunday's final of the $140,000 Kiwi Open.

Seles, the top seed, captured an event for a second straight week, as she won the Japan Open last Sunday. This was Seles' 51st career win and the victory was worth $22,000.

The 27-year-old Seles is now 3-0 all-time against Pratt, who became the first Australian to reach a WTA Tour final in seven years. The last was Rachel McQuillan on January 14, 1994 at the Tasmanian International in Hobart, Australia, where she was defeated by Mana Endo of Japan.

Seles has come a long way this year. She endured a five-month injury layoff, missing the French Open and Wimbledon due to a stress reactions in her right foot. In her last tournament before the Japan Open, in September she won an event in Brazil.

This was Seles' fourth title in six championship matches this year.
