this is a serious science question, which makes more heat 2 tea lights (really small candles) or a 60 watt light bulb.

i ask because right now in my room its maybe 245 degrees (maybe a little less) and i want to stay as cool as posible. there is really nothing left for me to take off clothes wise, and i am still HOT!!!!

jesus!! its fucking hot in here!!!

a candle burns at ~ 1700 C and a filament in a bulb is about 2500 C but I think the candle would put out more heat (temperature) since the filament is surrounded by a vacuum which does not transmit heat as well as air.

I agree. Lightbulb doesn't give direct heat but direct light, while a candle does both.

if you want to test, put your hand a few inches over a flame and see how long you can hold it there vs the light bulb. I bet it's a lot shorter.

I'd have to say the light bulb. Light bulbs don't really generate light energy. The light energy is just a by product of the heat energy being passed through the very thin filament.

As long as you aren't right next to the candle, it will be cooler since the heat will dissipate.

My light bulbs don't generate any heat... :) Seriously, they can be on for like 5 hours and they are cool to the touch. Gotta love the fluorescents.. :D

what kind of light bulb. if it is with wolfram wire (or however it's said in english) than it probably generates more heat because only 2% of energy goes to light, and rest is heat. Others are much better with as if i recall good 30+% going to light
