Re: S2 Wks.3-4 Australian Open-Melbourne(Seeking mixed manager, LIVE DRAW TMR 8:00)

Australian Open(GRAND SLAM)
Melbourne,Australia

Exclusive Preview

Welcome to Melbourne!!!! All the players of the EWTA Tour have already arried here to compete for the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open!! But it will not be an easy task for them as the weather condition of Australia is the most difficult among all four Grand Slams, hot weather, low humidity, nearly all players are having problems with this kind of weather condition!! But after two weeks of preparation, many players are starting to get used to the condition here and have been playing some great tennis already!! Here is a list of the favourites / contenders / dark horses for this tournament, plus some exlucisve info, all are given to you by the tour direactor, Maria!!

Favourites
The players that have the highest percentage of winning the title!!

Maria Sharapova(RUS)(Rank:#2)
Finalist in Sydney, ranked second at the Hopman Cup
Maria shocked the tennis world by winning the YEC last season in style, and she is expected by many experts to do well this season because of her great potential, and she is doing so right now, reaching the final of Sydney last week, and therefore reached her career high ranking at No.2!! So can she do even better with such a high ranking and take her second biggest title here??
Upcoming match: vs. Morigami in 2R

Dinara Safina(RUS)(Rank:#7)
Winner in Sydney, QF in Auckland
The red-hot Dinara Safina was doing amazingly at the end of season 2!! And she didn't have to defend many points at least at the top half of the year, also she still hasn't have a breakthrough at a Grand Slam yet!! Her form lately is simply amazing, despite a loss in Auckland two weeks ago, she did perfectly last week in Sydney, beating many three top 10 players and reached her career high ranking after that impressive win, so can the AO be her chance to shine at a Grand Slam???
Upcoming match: vs. Capriati in 2R

Ana Ivanovic(SRB)(Rank:#8)
Winner in Brisbane, SF in Sydney
Ana Ivanovic wins the US Open last season with no expectations on her at all, and since then, she has been improving a lot, winning many more matches and playing with a very high confidence!! And in the off-season, she went to Australia to train with her physical trainer, she definitely is ambitious in doing well at the new season. And her results this year have been fantastic so far, winning a title in Brisbane and reaching the semifinals in Sydney, she is so confident right now, so can she takes her second Grand Slam title here??
Upcoming match: vs. Larcher De Brito in 2R

Caroline Wozniacki(DEN)(Rank:#35)
Finalists in both Hopman Cup and Hobart
Denmark hadn't been a popular nation in tennis after Wozniacki joined the EWTA Tour and showed her potential!! The Dane didn't win too many matches in season 1, but in the season 2, she has been doing very very well since the start of the new season, reaching two finals in a row in only two weeks of time!! That definitely increases her self-confidence and she is having many fans from Denmark to support her here, so can she make some suprise news here with such a great form??
Upcoming match: vs. Kournikova in 2R

Contenders
The players that may not be the most suitable ones to win the title, but still may win the title with their ability!!

Ashley Harkleroad(USA)(Rank:#1)
Winner at the Hopman Cup, but 1R at Sydney
The American No.1 had such an amazing season 1 as she becomes the world number one player in a very short period of time!! But after that win in Tokyo, she didn't do too well towards the end of the season. But in the new season, it seems that she really want to prove why she is the world no.1 by winning the Hopman Cup for her own country!! But last week in Sydney, she lost to a very-low-ranked player Justine Henin, so can she increase her consistency and win her maiden Grand Slam title here??
Upcoming match: vs. Jozami in 2R

Agnes Szavay(HUN)(Rank:#4)
QF at Sydney, but 2R at Brisbane(Despite receive a 1R Bye)
The world No.4 is doing very consistently last season, didn't lost in 1R for many times, but she had a pretty bad start of the year as she even lost to an unranked player in Brisbane, but luckily she started to improve that last week at Sydney, reaching the QFs, but one question is that can she holds her consistency here?? But with he great Grand Slam performence throughout her career, she definitely can be one of the contenders here with such experiences!!
Upcoming match: vs. Hingis in 2R

Shahar Peer(ISR)(Rank:#13)
Hasn't played an event, but finalist at YEC
Shahar didn't have a very good season 1 as she was not that commited to the tour in the later part of the season, but her performence at the YEC is just stunning, despite being an alternate in the entry list, she defeated so many great players, and just barely lost her match again Sharapova in the final. She was expected to play even better at the season 2, however she was pulled out of her first tournament of the season because of an injury, so the AO is officially her first tournament of the year, so can she surprise us again here??
Lost to Chakvetadze in 1R

Hsieh Su-Wei(TPE)(Rank:#19)
Winner at Auckland, but 1R in Sydney
Su-Wei was a pretty consistent player at the season 1, seldoms lost in the first round, she just couldn't win a title last season desipte she has so many potentials!! And in the new season, she finally wins her first ever career title in the hot Auckland, although she lost in forst round at Sydney last week, she seems very comfortable to play at here as the weather of Australia and Taiwan are very similar to each other, that's a really great advantage for Su-Wei as many other players are not that used to the weather condition here, so can Su-Wei again uses her advantage to do well here??
Upcoming match: vs. Haynes in 2R

Dark Horses
The players that may not be expected to win the title at all, but will make some noise here!!

Jelena Dokic(AUS)(Rank:#34)
Second-ranked Australian, SF at Brisbane and 2R st Sydney
Jelena did have a pretty good season 1, as she wins many titles in doubles with her partner Ashley Harkleroad, and she also made her first tier I semifinal in Moscow, which is a good news for her singles career!! And here in Australia, she will have all the supports from the home-crowds, and she actually has done quite well this year so far as she reaches the SF in Brisbane and put a good match with the hot-form Ivanovic in the 2R of Sydney, so can she beat her opponents with all the supports of the Aussies??
Lost to Larcher De Brito in 1R

Alize Cornet(FRA)(Rank:#39)
QF at Sydney, but 1R at Brisbane
Alize made such a big storm in the EWTA Tour after she joined the tour, like reaching the later rounds in some big tournaments, also she recorded some great victories over great players like the US Open champion Ivanovic!! And the Frenchwoman is really looking forward to play well in the season 2 as well, and she actually has been doing pretty well lately, although a 1R loss in Brisbane, her performence in Sydney last week is just very satisfied for her as she faught so hard in her matches and she also put a great fight with Sharapova in the QF round!! So can the Frenchwoman fight again and cause some upsets here???
Upcoming match: vs. Stosur in 2R

Justine Henin(BEL)(Rank:#40)
QF in Sydney(Defeated world no.1 Harkleroad, nearly defeated Ivanovic in QFs), but 1R at Brisbane
Justine didn't show much about her game in the last season, and she had some steady results at that time, but still couldn't make a big breakthrough besides her final showdown in Bali! And in the new season, she is really ambitious to success as she actually got the game, but just didn't have those confidence!! Actually she has done pretty well in the new season so far, that's a victory over the World No.1 Harkleroad last week in Sydney, she just faught so hard in that match, and the world no.1 is just amazed by Justine's game, and she just lost to Ivanovic very closely in the QF match, so can Justine even do better and defeat the great players here again??
Upcoming match: vs. Vesnina in 2R

Anna Chakvetadze(RUS)(Rank:#44)
1R at Brisbane, but winner at Hobart
The Russian didn't show much in the season 1 as she always lost in the qualifying rounds!! And she is really eager for success in the new season, also she is really commited to the tour, like doing lots of off-court activities for the tour, and she actually is doing well in both right now!! Like her maiden title win in Hobart, she defeated some great players like Morigami and Wozniacki, and she definitely shows that she can do well not only the off-court activities, but also in winning matches!! So can Anna uses her confidence right now to beat some great players here again???
Upcoming match: vs. Haynes or Hsieh in 3R

Australian Open(GRAND SLAM)
Melbourne,Australia

Exclusive Doubles Preview
Done by Daniela-Is-Mine

Iveta Benesova(CZE)(Rank:#1) / Sania Mirza(CZE)(Rank:#3)
The world number one and reigning champ is had the single greatest season of anyplayer in singles or doubles, winning 2 grandslams and more then 10 titles. Sania and Iveta Have been having remarkable results and that is why they are one of the favorites. They have had a slow start, but if a team can turn it on when it matters it is them.

Laura Robson(GBR)(Rank:#7) / Maria Sanchez Lorenzo(ESP)(Rank:#2)
The queens of seasontwo so far! Maria and Laura are yet to lose a match and have won the two warm up titles going into this years autralian Open. Now the question is will the outright favorites hold thier nerves so each can grab thier first grand slam title?

Flavia Pennetta(ITA)(Rank:#13) / Dinara Safina(RUS)(Rank:#11)
Safinetta. Not much to say except for thier quite consistent play. They have never truly been considered as the favorites for any tourrnament, but after a strong Quarter final last week they show that they can win when they need to. Its a riskk but they are the third favorites for the title.

Serena Williams(USA)(Rank:#12) / Akiko Morigami(JPN)(Rank:#20)
And now to the Hobart champions. Serena is playing without Venus due to her injury and has joined with the scappy Japanese woman. Each have a fiesty attitude which brought them to win the title last week. Serena's serve looks on and if it is(as well as if Akiko's net play) They will breeze through to the semi's.

Alize Cornet(FRA)(Rank:#35) / Sorana Cirstea(ROU)(Rank:#31)
Now, it may be a shock to see them as favorites, but they have provent they they will be the toughest non seeded team. They won a couple indoor titles last season and finalled in Brisbane showing ythier intellegent play as they beat out the number one seeds, Iveta and Sania. The semi in Sydney shows that they are definitly to be considered as solid favorites.

Maria Sharapova(RUS)(Rank:#18) / Ana Ivanovic(SRB)(Rank:#4)

Lindsay Davenport(USA)(Rank:#5) / Tatjana Malek(GER)(Rank:#23)

Ashley Harkleroad(USA)(Rank:#9) / Jelena Dokic(AUS)(Rank:#8)

Betina Jozami(ARG)(Rank:#15) / Hsieh Su-Wei(TPE)(Rank:#28)

Anne Keothavong(GBR)(Rank:#16) / Shahar Peer(ISR)(Rank:#19)

Marion Bartoli(FRA)(Rank:#36) / Michelle Larcher De Brito(POR)(Rank:#39)

Victoria Azarenka(BLR)(Rank:#6) / Christina McHale(USA)(Rank:#25)

Martina Hingis(SUI)(Rank:#10) / Melanie Oudin(USA)(Rank:#22)

Jarmila Groth(AUS)(Rank:#29) / Justine Henin(BEL)(Rank:#26)

Alona Bondarenko(UKR)(Rank:#46) / Elena Dementieva(RUS)(Rank:#27)

Karolina Sprem(CRO)(Rank:#33) / Vera Zvonareva(RUS)(Rank:#38)

Caroline Wozniacki(DEN)(Rank:#37) / Anna Chakvetadze(RUS)(Rank:#41)

Good luck to all teams!!!!

:hearts::hearts:
The rules of mixed doubles is just the same as singles, no need to have a different 3rd set!;)

I will do the entry list for you, so when the deadline is over, plz make the draw and PM it to me!! And because you will run this event, so you won't be able to play the mixed doubles event!!
So many thanks for your effort!!
