Tight affair, with Kudermetova failing to hold her nerve in the closing stages. Riske 72-30 on grass now, about time she takes out a title on the surface.

Riske only looks good in warm-up tournaments though. 7-8 W/L in Wimbledon isn't a great score.

Go Ali! :)

2nd final of the year now.

This was such a break-fest the whole way through. Kudermetova was just a bit unsettled throughout, and she often kept setting Riske up for that BHDTL instead of executing her powerful forehand CC (she hit a lot of return winners). Also very reliant on the coaching - which was very awkward and weird at times lol. Fun match though, and a nice interview as usual from Riske who praised Kudermetova a lot and seemed really excited.

yes our local radio Omroep Brabant mentioned this win from Riske, probably because it could be Kiki's opponent if she makes the final

The match was enjoyable and I'm glad Riske won it, but she had no business doing so. Kudermetova really choked hard with those 5 UEs in a row from 5-2 up in the breaker.
