It started off well for Maky - up 6-4 4-1. Then, the shitshow happened, and she lost 6 games in a row :p It seemed like it was going the typical 2020 route for her where she wins the first set and proceeds to lose, but somehow she managed to get it together in time. The third set started off as a break fest, then both started holding saving multiple BPs. Vondrousova wasted a lot of chances. However, at the very end, Doi level dropped and she got broken to love and lost.

Up next Rus, who beat Iga! Maky has to get that serve together. Her return was fine, but she has to not get broken so easily.

Vondrousova's draws since the restart have been so light and she's still really struggling. The pressure is really off when it comes to getting the wins so maybe she'll be able to get something going.

She should not struggle so much against Misaki Doi on clay but it's a win fortunately.

It would probably benefit her if she had tougher draws, think she's that type of player. Streaky, inspired ect.

i would suggest to decrease any expectations from her! it seems injury took a lot from her and recovery brought nothing! marketa is close to anastasia nefedova at the moment imo. i dont think she can win 3 matches in a row this year! slow, backhand non-existent, serve horrible, zero game discipline!

Once Vondrousova is in form now we start to see her dispatch most, look at RG last time.
