LOL the OP sounds pressed :sobbing:
Nice to see Jo having this renaissance on clay. Her game is primarily based on confidence so hopefully with these runs on her least favorite surface she can maybe be seeded at RG and win a match or two there. She's been ranked way too low the past two years or so.

Klayta is here to slay!!! :cheer:

Such fearless from Jo.. Not afraid to just go for it, finishing off points at the net.. I also really liked her backhand slice today, which she used well to keep Marketa back until she could hit a more aggressive two handed backhand shot.

Marketa fought her little heart out.. She was hindered but still a dangerous opponent, if she'd caught momentum earlier on.

I think Joko fans have the right to be cocky, considering her form gonig into the clay season and with little expectations for it to pick up.

Also, her next opponent is the inform clay courter of 2019, so we need to ride this wave while we still can.

Marketa's got a fun game when she's allowed to play it. Will be great to watch her dismantle the counterpunchers over the next 10 years.

Bad news for the top players for Marketa to be unseeded at RG, but potentially good news if Konta ends up seeded at Wimbledon.

Poor Marketa had nothing left to give. Too bad. Her game is rapturous. :hearts:

Mladenovic or Sakkari are both tall orders in the next round, so hopefully a long GRUELLING game between those 2.

If she's now seeded for RG, then Wimbledon should be a lock in too - especially if she manages to string a few wins together on the terre battue. She didn't have a particularly awesome grass court season last year, so the only significant points that she has to defend in the gap are the points from last years Nottingham final.

Maky got a second wind in that second set. But the wind disappeared for the third.

Jo :cheer: :cheer: Nine wins on clay in one season  Marketa looked knackered out there but still a very good effort from Jo to come through this. She's looking confident at the moment and I hope she can keep it up.

She's facing Bertens.

Johanna :hysteric: first P5 or above semifinal since WIMBLEDON 2017 :scared:

Sets 1 and 3 were really good from her again, she slumped majorly in the middle, lost her tactical brain completely and Maky loosened up a bit. She was clearly hindered today but that's why it was such an opportunity for Jo which she thankfully took. Vondrousova will be a big threat at RG in the form she's been in this year.

As for Jo, she has to experience some of what Marketa had this afternoon tomorrow against Bertens, 12pm start and she finished at this match at 7pm. Tough turnaround :tape: but she has nothing to lose in that one anyway so hopefully just goes for it. What a week, and somehow will be seeded at the French Open :hearts:

Konta played well, for sure, but I did like Vondrousova's game. She can really mix it up. Most I've seen her play so well. She looked a bit tired at the end, but that can happen when someone keeps painting the lines. No one will want to draw Vondrousova in the first round at the French. That's an upset waiting to happen.

It's an even taller order, as it's actually Bertens next. Pliskova plays the winner of that forthcoming match. She's lived ranked 31 now and Sakkari and Mladenovic can pass her in the rankings, but not both, so will be seeded.
