Simona does seem a nice girl and I do wonder why she has some of the worst fans I have ever seen on this board and I was member on the old WTA board which was about 19 years ago! Weird!

The big question is will she continue winning or will she go in a slump? Too hard to say atm.
with the current state of tour you would think she has to.

So ends a miserable French Open for me, don't care about the mens.

Serena's massive over-hype ruined the first week, when some good matches were going on, Maria's tragic form apart from Pliskobot, then just a lot of damp squib matches, often with the result I didn't want, and now the most obnoxious, hypocritical and sanctimonious fan base in tennis get a win.

First Woz now Halep, I await Wimbledon to be won by Kiki now.

Hopefully Petra saves WTA now and will win Wimbledon. Also Halep is not bad on grass either, she was in SF as I recall. She can probably make another slam final.

Say what you will, her run here was far more convincing than anything Muguruza and Wozniacki displayed at Wimbledon and the AO.

Those titles belong to Serena's legion of vultures.

To my knowledge,no other fanbase in tennis spends as much time mocking other players, denigrating their achievements and attacking fanbases with racial slurs.

So deserved. Come think of it, if you take out Halep's annoying fans out of the equation I don't really have any reason why to hate on her. She works really hard and she obviously cares a lot about the game. It would have been tragic to see her lose another final after all the finals she's played and lost. She'll win more grand slams for sure. I can see her winning the USO this year tbh.

Good tournament overall for Maria. Reaching her first slam QF after her comeback, beating some quality players throughout the whole of the clay season. I'm very hopeful about what the rest of the year will bring. Let's not forget that it was under Thomas' guide that Maria managed to reach the finals of Wimbledon and the Olympics, both on grass. I really hope Maria plays a warm up tournament on grass before Wimbledon though. Just to see where's she at on the surface.

Well, Serena's fans are pretty bad, but it's the sanctimony of Halep's fans I despise, the "we're so much better than you, but we'll defend any ridiculous comment from Simona excusing racist countrymen, and saying women don't deserve equal pay".

In the end Serena fans are just full-on hate, which I understand more, and there have been inequities in the past, but they don't seem to realise that it's very much ended with Serena, she gets all the hype and praise, as this years French Open proves. The tiresome woke are just falling over themselves to give big ups. Even Ivanka fucking Trump, imagine the reaction if Maria had received some affirmation from that family.....

Agreed. I keep forgetting about the Olympics and went back to watch some of the matches. Also, that match she played against Cibulkova at Wimbledon in 2011 was sublime.

Her serve and forehand were so good in that match :sobbing:

She played some great matches on grass back then. I love how she beat Lisicki at the Olympics right after she beat Maria at Wimbledon the same year :worship:.

American problems. Let them deal with that. Social chaos because their empire is over and as divertion tactics they try to put the attention on social internal issues.

Just the other day I was reading that in the scamming state pova lives in they want to put the limit at 55 gallon of water a day. Good luck with that pova! @aknox can you believe it? Not even in socialist/communist countries they do that anymore. In a few years they will ratio food too. :laugh2:

Instead of fixing their old infrastructure to have better water (after reading some comments now I understand why they need all these purifing water shit. Yikes!) they will give you less water, still shitty quality

I think we think she's worse on grass than she actually is, the fact is she was practically playing with a busted shoulder against de Brito, and so many of the preceding years she's come into Wimbledon after a wearying clay-court season. There's more of a gap between French and Wimbledon now, so there's definitely more time to prepare. I mean in the end it shouldn't be so much that it's a great surface for her but that many in the draw aren't good at all on it.

I mean, Halep, Svitolina, Woz, Dasha K, it's just not their surface. Mugz and Petra are good, and maybe Coco, but if Maria has a good warm-up and a nice draw this is certainly not bad for her.

Actually now that I look at it, being a top 24 seed isn't particularly great on the grass because these are the players she could face in the 3R if the rankings don't move around too much from this. :spit:

Give me Mertens or Kasatkina, those two would be dream R3s.

But you're right, getting a Vandeweghe, Goerges or of course Venus would be very tricky.

Görges on grass would be fine TBH, but yeah there are a few potential poor draws in there.

I don't care who she faces in R3. The onnly thing I want is her serve. Serve can boost your confidence so much.

Remember Wimbledon 2015, AO2016, she didn't play that well off the ground but her serve was amazing. I know we can't expect she turns into servebot (cause It won't happen) but missed so much 1st serve in the beginning, hit 2 3 DFs in a single game of course will make you more nervous. The more you feel nervous, the more errors come.

The serve against Muguruza match was beyond tragic seriously by all means - Horrible.

Once she could not set up her shots after the proper serve placement (aka she literally just attempted to roll it over the court after multiple service games) she was taken advantage of by Garbine completely.

She needs to bring her serve consistency back. Not aiming at big serves but definitely not this 80mph top spin serve.

It's all about timing, feeling. For Maria It's more of the feeling. Hopefully Her serve won't be wosre in grass season

It’s been 14 years and she reached just a single final and no title in Wimby (also in grass since 05) ....I wish that vintage pre shoulder pova will come back but with that serve movement & groundstrokes no wayy.Lol she’s become camel in grassy field.

Her mentality has regressed she had lost even before match vs Mug had begun like that Kerber match.Shes not good at capitalizing opportunities as usual.I have no hopes I’ll take loss to scrubs than no performance tankish match which destroyes her perfect h2h. moo better improve to make statement in tabloid capital where she gets the most hate from so called morally holy people.

She should find an excuse and skip grass alltogether .I'm not here to read fake morality "journos" articles that give them easy clicks.
