Francesco Ricci Bitti from the ITF gave an interview for a German newspaper.
He wants easier scoring so tennis can be adjusted to TV-coverage. The Hopman-Cup-scoring (super-tiebreak instead of 3rd set) is just the beginning, he says.
The larger balls won't be installed.
Wimbledon will be later 1 or 2 weeks in 2005, he says.

When they abolish the 3rd set, I will stop following tennis.

Whats the point of adapting it for television if they´re killing the appeal of the game? Every time I sit down to watch a three-set match I hope it´s gonna go to a third. Every time I have ever seen a third set tie break, I was left with a sense of anti-climax. To think that there would no longer even be a deciding set, just some piddly tie game so we can cut to the commercials is really scary...
