I have to say that Kanepi played the whole game as practice match. First set was just walk in the park. In second set she tried to play really slow game and didn't bother by any UEs and didn't really care if wins that one. She knew she's going to win and to see how many UEs she makes when she plays slower game and she lost that way. In third set she showed her normal faster game and only 2 UEs then.
Just easy practice and not using energy. Very smart game and she didn't show anything to Maria what she's capable of also. Congrats, job well done!

She only won 5 points in that set....Congrats Kaia on a QF...Glad to see she followed up that great win against bitchy La Borz with another strong win....If you take out her second set blips in the last two matches, her stats are excellent...Should be very interesting against Sharapova considering how hard these ladies hit...If Kaia brings her A game and Maria brings the shit she played today, I think Kaia has a chance...They have never played on the WTA tour before and that leaves things wide open in my opinion because you don't know your opponent

Rus wasn't injured, just change of gear from Kanepi. She just toyed with Rus in first 2.

Thats kind of colored opinion. The first set was quite even until 4-1, just everything went well for Kanepi. Second set Rus just played better, again until halfway, but still.
Kanepi indeed played very well again in the 3rd. But what was wrong with Rus?

If she wants to have a chance against MAria, she'll capitalize on chances and not double fault etc.
