Sehr gut, Laura ! :hearts:

The first ever main draw win at the French Open of her career at 31 yo ! :yeah:
She was sooo happy after MP ! A big smile. An important win for her. Glückwunsch ! :worship:
She played aggressive tennis with great dropshots. Finished the match with 2 strong dropshots

Zhuk

I forgot how beautiful she and beautiful/powerful/strong her groundstrokes are.
But she is quite one-dimensional. Her serve is too weak. She can't keep her concentration.
Overall simply too many easy UEs. Still the potential for Top 100 is there. But she must improve !

You would think that Laura has just won a WTA tournament from her reaction. But now it makes sense to me as apparently it is her 1st ever RG MD victory and last year she wasn't in her best form. It's kinda of surprising for a good player on clay that she is but it's barely a few years since she isn't just an ITF level player and in 2017 when she was scoring great victories during clay season she suffered that terrible injury a couple of days before RG started

Who knows, Laura could suddenly burst to the scene with a surprising Roland Garros title like Ostapenko did. She could totally do that as long as she's healthy.

This is the first time in her second career that she’s coming into RG healthy. In 2016 she was carrying an injury which got worse in Nuremberg and she basically played for the paycheck (lost 2&2 to slumping Bouchard IIRC), 2017 was the horrible injury in Nuremberg (no wonder she went to Strasbourg this year) and last year she had just come back from the previous year’s injury.

Not expecting much against Bencic because it’s a bad matchup, but she will have plenty of chances to go for the upset.

Laura :yeah: :worship: Finally scoring that well deserved victory in Paris. :D I am very glad for her. :)

Sofya  Her tennis seems to improve, hopefully her results and ranking will reflect that. :)

Crazy to think that this is Laura’s first main draw win here given her clay court abilities but so glad she finally earned it! Bencic will be a tough one given her form but here’s hoping she has fun and takes it to her
