WAS IST LOS HIER?

What's the matter here? was Germany's Steffi Graf the latest to experience the Van Roost Curse? Van Roost was up a set and a break in the second set, but Graf has a little curse of her own, "The Fraulien Forehand Curse"... Gee, I wonder which curse prevailed in the third set?
VAMOS!

Argentina's Gabriela Sabatini raises her arms in triumph to the crowd after defeating Lindsay Davenport. Sabatini used masterful spins and slices to keep Davenport off balance and guessing. A one point in the second set after a Sabatini hit a backhand winner down the line to break Davenport's serve, Davenport went over to the spot, picked up some clay and shook her head saying " What am I doing here", before throwing the clay over her shoulder.
NO MORE CINDERELLA STORY

The forehand of Mary Pierce struck Midnight on the Cinderella story of unseeded Natasha Zvereva in the quaterfinals of The Red Clay Championships. Zvereva managed to stay with Mary for awhile, but faultered during the later stages of each set. When asked if she was tired after her long match with Navratilova? Zvereva laughed and replied " No, just tired of Mary ".
EASY DOES IT!

Mary Joe Fernandez won our tournament last week, The best player never to win a slam event. Well it looks like Fernandez has carried that winning form here to The Red Clay Championships. After dispatching of Monica Seles and Justine Henin in previous rounds, Fernandez edged Japan's Kimiko Date in two close sets ... Go Mary Joe!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
