I avoided putting players who are currently active, as who knows what will happen with them (although I doubt any of them deserve to enter here)
Really? Pretty sure there's one active player currently who deserves to be in the top 5.

1. Graf - 1988 Golden Slam, 48% of tournaments won, won 22 Slams out of 54 that she played, won 21 Slams in 9 years and 22 Slams in 12 years, 377 weeks at #1, 8 year end #1 finishes, at least 4 titles at each Slam and an unprecedented level of dominance both in slams and outside them.

2. Williams - 23 Slams, highest peak/level of tennis that any woman has ever played, played in the toughest and most competitive era, 319 weeks at #1, incredible doubles career, won two Serena Slams.

3. Navratilova - 167 singles titles, 330 weeks atat #1, 19 years in the top 5, won six majors in a row, incredible doubles career, most titles at the WTA finals.

4. Chris Evert - highest winning % and most consistent player of all time, reached the SF at 52 out of 56 Slams that she played, also 157 titles.

5. Court -Although Court currently holds the all time record for number of Grand Slams, I still believe context is important when having these types of discussions. A number of her AO titles can barely be considered Slams - 1960 (32 players, 2 non-Australians), 1961 (44 players, 1 non-Australian), 1962 (48 players, 2 non-Australians), 1963 (39 players, 2 non-Australians), 1964 (27 players, 2 non-Australians) and a few other really weak ones. In addition to that, she played a sizeable portion of her career in the amateur era so plenty of her stats are vague and obscure.

How can be Serena above Steffi? Steffi completed the Golden Slam in 1988. Serena didn't ( she only won 3 GS in a season )...Steffi won 22 GS having a shorter career ( she retired at 31 ) .This is why she is the n1 ever by far
Lol....so?

Serena is rightly my NUMBER 1.
