did fitzy even give a reasoning behind their decision to play rafter/hewitt in doubles???
i couldnt promise woodbridge/arthurs would've won but they would have stood more of a chance... both players have strong preferences towards grass plus they r doubles specialists and have better tactics and more tricks up their sleeves than rafter/hewitt would have!

Wally, it seems Pat felt he only had one match left in him, so they risked it on doubles (STOOPPPID).
I think this is a case, that RAfter was never fit enough to play. This is not the first time Pat has done this. He has played Tournaments before, pulling out, knowing he wasn't fit in the first place. Before it cost a fit up and comer a spot in a Tournament, this time the price was much higher, oh well, C'est la vie.
