"This tournament was a chance for me to prove I was Number 1, and I felt the pressure," said Martina afterward. "Steffi is Number 1. I know I'm the better player, but I didn't prove it this year. I've got to get my act together." No one doubts that a competitor as fierce as Navratilova will do just that -- even if her era of dominance is past.

Well any fan of Martina can tell you, she was referring to the 2 things that meant the most to HER. Wimbledon and The US in her continuing endeavour at the time to be accepted by the American people. She achieved both those goals and to her that was a "Quality" year. It is a shame that only in her fun run in doubles now, that Americans finally accept the wonderful player she was then in singles and is now in doubles. Of Course in some peoples eyes, like you RMC, only Venus and Serena have suffered in Tennis. I strongly object to certain comments you have made about me and am expecting if not an apology, certainly a retraction. I will make that clear at every opportunity I get from here on in.
