Since they changed the date and surface of the tournament this year '09, will players lose points if they skip the tournament? It appears this tournament was played in September last year on hard courts and this year it's in May and on Clay. Is that right?

It's a 52 week rolling system so Stuttgart 2008 points to drop off in October 2009.
