I love the title!! 👑 Thanks for making the thread, we could always use some beginners luck I reckon!

Honestly I don't hate this draw. She won't be the favourite in any match - but Petkovic/Tauson have both been injured, Pegula has played just 3 matches since RG and was struggling with Dart. Let's hope Vee draws a soft qualifier and can make something happen from there. Why not?? I Veelieve! :hearts:

More than anything I plan to enjoy every second we still have the privilege of watching her compete.

Some tough qualifiers in the draw. Zero expectations but a treat that we will see Vee play once again 😍

28 years (later this year) since her WTA debut in Oakland - that is RIDICULOUS but loveable longevity.

She has been loving a good kids day lately! :inlove: And these videos are a big fuck you to all the flops in GM who said nobody would want to go see her. She has more people showing up to watch her practice sessions than the current top 10 do to a SF of a 1000 tournament.

To my fellow down under sistren, her match is on at 9am Tuesday AEST, not too bad for us! @Représailles, the doubles draw isn't out yet but they're not on the entry list so would need some kind of last minute WC I guess. I don't know if I can see it happening but I'd be here for it.

I'm keeping an eye on the qualies draw to scout Vee's R1. So far three have qualified:
  • Louisa Chirico (who beat [1] Wang 7-5 in the third),
  • [5] Miriam Bjorklund (who beat [3] Hev Watson),
  • [4] Cristina Bucsa (who beat [7] McNally, also 7-5 in the third).
  • The final match is between Rebecca Marino [2] and Sachia Vickery [8], Vickery just winning the first set in a close TB.

I'm loving that so far most of the tougher opponents were eliminated! She has already played Marino at the US Open and won, but I would prefer to see Vickery win the final qualies match, Vee already hit with her recently and will be used to her ball. But fingers crossed we get Chirico or clay courter Busca. 👀

12 years since they last met! So much has happened since then.
