I didnt see many matches today because I was only there for about an hour but I'll just write something about the 3 that I saw.

Li def Kloesel

I saw the first set and both were playing well, with solid baseline games, and never coming to the net. That was a bit surprising in the case of Li as I expected her to come into the net more being a good doubles player, and she does volley well in doubles. There were times when both of them could have won the point if they'd gone in but they never did. Li was leading 5-3 but made double faults when serving for the set, and had more set points on Kloesel's serve at 5-4 but made UE's on those points. So Kloesel levelled it and then won the TB. Woerle and Bammer were standing near me supporting Kloesel.

Nakamura def Nemeckova

The match went how I thought it would go, with Nakamura hitting hard and aggressively and dominating the points, and Nemeckova defending well. Lenka is a good counterpuncher and can hit great shots on the defense and hit a few great running backhands down the line. There were a lot of breaks in the first set, and Aiko was more consistent than i thought she would be despite her aggressive style. In the tiebreak Lenka made a few loose errors and Aiko played well. I had to leave after the first set ended.

Tu def Rao

From what I saw Tu was playing really well and not missing much. Sunitha was playing ok but made a few too many errors.

I saw only one mens match which was Djokovic def Moodie. Novak was again impressive although Moodie played crap in the last set. Novak was really happy when he won because it was his first grand slam main draw and was interviewed after the match.

Someone I know saw Kirkland vs Cho, and the match was closer than the scoreline. Cho was good but Kirkland was very solid and was too consistent for her.
Apparently Voskoboeva was impressive against Kraijcek and was better in the first set and should have won it. Kraijcek has a great game and will probably be a top player in the future.

Players I saw practice included Zheng hitting up with Na Li, and both were hitting very well. First they hit forehand to forehand crosscourt, then backhand to backhand, and they were both drilling their backhands hard. Li's was especially hard and had to keep apologising for hitting it so hard Jie could not get it back
This guy who worked at the AO was watching and told me he was very impressed with both although he knew nothing about either of them.

Thanks for the report. Too bad that Sunitha lost in the third round again, oh so close. But good on Meilen, she really needs these points!

Thanks again :)...I was going to go after I finished work on Saturday (finished at 1pm), but I only would've caught the closing stages of a few matches so didn't think it was worth it...pity Sunitha lost :(

Voskoboeva was good against Krajicek, and it seemed that she had control of both the first and second sets. Misa was lucky to win the 1st set tiebreak! But in the 3rd set, Galina just went walkabouts or something. She got broken 1st game and then kinda gave up - made heaps of errors.

I'm so excited that Aiko plays soo aggressively! Unlike many of the other Japanese players!
Yeah I'm not really a fan of the games of many of the Japanese but I love Aiko :hearts:
She is exciting to watch and is so cute on the court!

I tried to see them, and I especially wanted to see Dubois but unfortunately I did not get a chance to :(
I had an important class for my uni course on and I had to leave at 1pm when they werent on court yet.
I saw only a bit of Marie Eve's 2nd match, she had the annoying cheer squad again and she was playing well.
