Why haven't decent juniors like chalena Scholl, tornado Alicia black and Townsend been offered wildcards.
Because most withdrawals came 2-3 days ago and players need some time to prepare a tournament. I mean, if you are professional enough. Then you have the likes of Kinard who learnt about the withdrawals and got on the first plane to San Francisco in order to pocket $1000 for a first round qualy loss and vulture 1 ranking point.

What Kristie Ahn done in the last 5 years? Haven't seen her name since the 2008 US Open I think.

Also, ouch at Coco not getting a wild card :spit:

Contacted the WTA about trying to get a player I help consult get into Stanford and if there were open spots, then they would go to Stanford players, then byes per tournament owner. Kinard is from Cali and Stevenson is Stevenson so they both probably had a wildcard already

Shows what a mess the tour is in with the road maps they have.

- BYEs/Doubles Specialists in most of the Premier Qualifications
- An almost Premier list in some International tournaments where there is only 1 place to go.
- An almost International list in some Premier tournaments due to weak slots.
- Back to back mandatory/high tier tournaments and have retirements/withdrawals in at least 1 tournament.

Getting wild cards in Stanford? This is her fourth succesive QWC in Stanford. Never won a match.
Well, she plays at Stanford so...

Hardebeck/Rampre...:hysteric: Krista just choked a set and 5-1 lead in Portland to Rampre.

I know you know Ahn played no. 2 singles on the no. 1 college team last season. And she battled injuries her freshmen and sophomore years. Prolly should've declined the QWC the last two years just on health reasons alone, but then again, she wouldn't be the competitor she is if she did.

I'm more surprised Tan rec'd a w/c....thought she couldn't wait for the season to end so she could stop playing. I underestimated her! Good for Stacey!

CoCo only has 2 MD WCs left which I'm pretty sure is reserved for San Diego ( home tourney ) and the USO :)
Talented as she might be, there is no way CoCo is getting a main draw WC to the US Open. Apart from a win over Bartoli, she's been horrid the last 12 months and there are so many other more deserving players (in addition to the USTA darlings like Oudin who always get help). Not to mention she'll need a wild card just to get into the qualifying this year

I guess it will ultimately depend on how she performs during the summer hard court season :)
