PYW Tokyo

The second largest event this week is held in Tokyo. It is one out of two events held in the Japanese capital. Who will be strong enough to outfox, outsmart and outplay the others? That is up to you!

The major event this week is held in Filderstadt, but Tokyo can still claim some interesting players coming this week, including three players in the PYW Top 10 with Golovin, Zvonareva and Sugiyama. The home crowd will not only cheer for Ai, but has six other players to cheer for, among them Asagoe and Morigami.

The finalists:

Ai Sugiyama JPN [5]

Nicole Vaidisova CZE [2]

In the top half Ai Sugiyama gave the home crowd something to cheer about by defeating Sania Mirza. She reached the final of Seoel last week, but lost it to Gisela Dulko. She is hoping to do one better this time with the help of her loving supporters.

In the bottom half Nicole Vaidisova proved her seeding right by taking care of Gisela Dulko, thus preventing a repeat of last week's Seoel final. Vaidisova won Tashkent last year, so this could be her time of year. She faces a tough challenge with the home crowd against her, but she is sure to provide some tough resistance.

Final:

Ai Sugiyama JPN [5] v. Nicole Vaidisova CZE [2]
