PYW Doubles Indian Wells

Welcome to Indian Wells, USA! This is the first premier mandatory event of the year and is considered by many to be nearly as prestigious as a major. As the year comes together, so have many teams that assembled at the beginning of 2012 and took a little while to hit their stride, making Indian Wells the perfect opportunity for them to break through. The top seeds, American veterans Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond, could be tough to stop, but if a team that could conquer this task exists, they are surely here this week. The second seeds, Indian Saia Mirza and Russian Elena Vesnina, are ever-popular while a team in their quarter, Argentinean wildcards Gisela Dulko and Paola Suárez, have enjoyed a fantastic Latin American circuit. In the top half, the new 2012 teams of Jarmila Gajdošová of Australia and Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the USA as well as fourth-seeded Russian team, Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova, both of whom have been quite successful this year will have a strong say as well. However, no one can argue with the success of American Vania King in PYW doubles, as she has amassed a heap of titles and one of the most untouchable records of any one, and as she returns to her former partner, German Anna-Lena Grönefeld, this team could make a lasting impact in the desert as well. With all of this showing the sure intensity of competition in California, your vote will clearly make a difference. Vote now as the BNP Paribas Open begins!
