PYW Doubles Copenhagen
Welcome to Copenhagen, Denmark! Although the red clay season began with Barcelona this week, this Nordic event has (potentially permanently) been given this slot on the WTA calendar and has arguably attracted its strongest line-up out of all three stagings this year. Although some players are eager for clay to begin and headed to Barcelona, many others prefer the hard courts they have just seen in Miami, USA or the consistent conditions that Copenhagen's indoor courts have to offer. This week, the charge is led by German now-doubles specialist Anna-Lena Grönefeld and Petra Martić of Croatia, who are the top seeds. The second seeds are the Australian-Russian sister duo of Anastasia Rodionova and Arina Rodionova. The draw also includes the Ukrainian sister duo of Lyudmyla Kichenok and Nadiya Kichenok, defending champions Swede Johanna Larsson and German Jasmin Wöhr, and the Danish team of Caroline Wozniacki and Malou Ejdesgaard (wildcards) as unseeded teams. With such depth in the draw, Copenhagen will surely be exciting! Vote now as the e-Boks Open 2012 begins!
