Welcome to Birmingham, Great Britain! After weeks in the clay court season we make an immediate switch to the grass season kicking off in Birmingham. This grass court tournament is good for the players who want to start off on the grass court. This tournament is 2 weeks away from Wimbledon. One of these players is former top 10 player, Daniela Hantuchova, who will be partnering with with German, Sabine Lisicki in the doubles draw this week. Both players were struggling before the tournament and are look for some form in the doubles. The top seeds are American stars and doubles champions Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond, but they will meet firm opposition from the other teams in the draw. As the grass court season kicks off in Birmingham, the players would want to get some wins on the hardcourts too, getting some wins now is key for each player's confidence in the upcoming weeks, making the competition here in Birmingham all the more important.
