Protected rankings:In order to be eligible for a Protected Ranking, one must have been out of competition a minimum of six months.
The eligible player must apply for a PR in the „Protected Ranking“ thread before re-entering TT competition.
That means that the player has to post in the Protected Ranking thread to apply for a PR there before he commits to any tournament.

A player has one year from the date he/she returns to competition to use the Protected Ranking and may enter a maximum of 2 Grand Slams and 2 Premier Mandatories as part of his/her Protected Ranking Tournaments.

A player out for more then a year will now be entitled to 12 tournaments to use Special Ranking.
(if you are out from 6 months to 1 year you will get 8 chances to use your SR)

For seedings only the actual ranking of a player matters and players don't have to use their PR if they get into the draws with their actual ranking anyway.

You can ask for a PR after you have been out for at least 6 month, not before.

Welcome back! :cheer:

According to the statistics website AO was your last tournament in singles and Paris Indoor in doubles, so you could techniacally start from next week. Unfortunately first entry deadlines are already over.

How long/ how many tournaments?
There is nothing written in the rules, so it would be the fairest if we give him the same number as the wta players get. Should be 8 or 9. Meelis knows the exact number for sure.

WTA SR/PR is valid for eight tournaments or for one year since the return, whatever happens first. Can be used once for the grand slam entry, can't be used for the WTA Championships or ToC.

A couple of questions

Do I have the option to choose whether I want to use the PR in a tournament or is it used automatically every time I enter a tournament?

What exactly is my PR? Is it the last ranking I had when I stopped playing? Or how is it determined?

Ah I din't think he was talking about TT as well.

So PR is just basically an entry right? Won't be seeded?

Is it possible apply for a PR?
Yes.

Your last tournament was Burnie in January, so you can start playing immedeately and your PR's are the following:

Singles: 181
Doubles: 133

Thanks :)
Just a few questions:
1) How many tournaments?
2) Can I choose the weeks I use PR?
3) In some tournaments can I use PR in doubles but not in singles and use the PR singles in other tournament?
