Joaco, on top of that, she hit 35 winners! No matter how many unforced errors, that is a great stat! Reminiscent of her 50+ winners against Capriati at Indian Wells...man I love Lindsay

Krasnoroutskaya’s Rally Falls Short

Late-arriving fans for Thursday’s night session match on Stadium Court may have missed the first set of Lindsay Davenport’s 6-0, 7-6 (2) third-round victory at the Acura Classic.

In the second set, Krasnoroutskaya fell behind 3-1, but slowly began to find the range on her shots and rallied to get back on serve and take a 4-3 lead.

_______________________________

I have put in bold another point that suggests that Lindsay's serve is back to it's usual reliable self! Even thought she was down a break she was able to stay focused and serve well for the rest of the match. Also, she was able to pull through a long though game! These are all great signs of how Lindsay is doing. What I do find interesting is that before this match both Lindsay and Chanda had the same win/loss record for the year!? Lindsay has the better record now (34-10 to Chanda's 33-11) :p

We don't know for another few hours who Lindsay will face )either Kim or Lisa). Anyhow, here are the H2H records vs. both players (curtesy of the Magic Lindsay site  ):

2003 Sidney Hard F Kim Clijsters 6-4 6-3
2003 Indian Wells Hard F Kim Clijsters 6-3 7-5

LINDSAY DAVENPORT LEADS : 6-5

It's close, with Kim winning four of the last five  I think Lindsay is due to balance that up a little and expand her H2H lead :)

I can't seem to find any H2H records for Lisa-Lindsay. If there is anyone who can help me out on that. Bye for now,
-Rachel :wavey:

Clijsters Advances to Acura Classic Singles Final

Second-seeded Kim Clijsters of Belgium continued her domination this week at the Acura Classic as she eliminated fifth-seeded Lindsay Davenport, 6-3, 6-3 in a semifinal match on Stadium Court.

With her victory, the Belgian advances to her first career Acura Classic singles final.

Clijsters began the match on a strong note as she lost only three points in her first three service games. She broke Davenport to take a 4-2 lead and went on to serve out the first set in 31 minutes.

Despite two double faults, Davenport held serve to open the second set, but ended up falling behind 3-1 when she lost serve in the third game.

On her third match point, Clijsters won the match when Davenport netted a forehand.

Clijsters won all three of her previous matches this week at the La Costa Resort and Spa in under an hour. Her victory over Davenport was no different as she converted on four of 15 break points to win in 59 minutes.

“I was probably going for a bit too much.” Davenport said, “If she gets control of the rally, it’s all over. When it’s close, she plays the points tough.”

Davenport admitted that she was not at her best against Clijsters. “I didn’t have my A game.” she said. “I’m disappointed, I wish I could have played better today.”

Davenport committed six double faults and a total of 34 unforced errors in the match.

Clijsters advances to the final of the 2003 Acura Classic. She will face the winner of the Justine Henin-Hardenne / Svetlana Kuznetsova match.

Sorry Lindsay lost against Kim. I have the match taped but I have not watched it yet, I am too disappointed and also at the loss in the doubles too. I surely must be Lindsay's time for a title soon.

Go Lindsay :worship:
