Peng has 1745 points, I don't think she gets direct In.

Peng gets in directly with enough players above her withdrawing, which seems very likely at this point

the WTA announced Sloane, Pavly, Vesnina and Sevastova for Zhuhai, which confirms that Konta/Kuznetsova are out of both Singapore/Zhuhai, and Singapore alternates Mladenovic/Vandeweghe are not totally in Zhuhai, and Keys won't play Zhuhai

wasn't the field supposed to be announced today

it is already evening local time, unless the WTA meant USA time

this probably means that some players informed the WTA they won't play, so they are contacting the replacements
