She can but WC will probably just go to another Chinese player

wasn't the field supposed to be announced today

it is already evening local time, unless the WTA meant USA time

this probably means that some players informed the WTA they won't play, so they are contacting the replacements

Players had until 10 am Florida time to confirm their participation. So it should be out soon hopefully

So, does this mean each group of three would contain one each of the following sets of players?

Set 1: Mladenovic, Vandeweghe, Stephens, Pavlyuchenkova
Set 2: Sevastova, Vesnina, Goerges, Kerber
Set 3: Barty, Rybarikova, Strycova, Peng

Are the groups randomly assigned based on one from each set? That would make sense... I bet everyone is hoping to get Kiki in their group!
Looks like Goerges and Kerber won't play each other, unless they both win their respective groups.
Will both Daria's be alternates, or do they just have one, which would be Kasatkina based on the rankings?
