I just wanted to ask I thought the whole point of results threads were to discuss the match results only. Aside from copyright issues, I think it's distracting to be posting many, large photos of players in results threads. If people wanted to look at photos they can easily search for it on the internet. I come to results threads to discuss the match, not look at pictures.



I propose a oncourt pictures thread and banning of posting of large photos in results threads. Mods, what do you think?

I think posting many large photos is results threads is similar to spam. It’s like posting a lot of twits in a row or videos with highlights.
It’s ok posting them a few with self control.
When you decide to post a chain of them, there can be hidden somehow so people can choose whether to see all them or not. There’s this tag spoiler for example that can be used to discretion to see more.

People have to take in consideration that overusing these pics, videos and twits makes more difficult to navigate from mobile devices and slower down a lot the connection pace because all that requires to load the page.
Plus there’s players threads with photos threads or twitter threads. Or there can be even more specific pic threads in GM (like bikini threads or others).

I think asking at least for some sort of selfcontrol, moderation and common sense to users when they post in result threads in GM is very reasonable.

But good luck with that Sam. I opened a similar thread about excessive twitter use in threads and it was ignored by everyone and received a nasty bad rep.

We have discussed this and we will try to figure out the optimal solution.

Until then I can only ask that people show some common sense and empathy. Particularly bad cases can always be reported and will be checked.
