Just have a look at what might be in store for Kim the coming days:

She is the no. 1 in both singles and doubles and I suppose they are happy to have her participating in both events.

However there doing a very bad job at scheduling her doubles matches:

As most of you will know she is yet to play her second round doubles, which was supposed to take place Saturday. Rain that day so no worries, she could have made up for it on Sunday.

Instead they gave Kim the night match in singles so again no doubles. Yesterday with the weather being so bad, it's normal she never got to play it. But still this leaves us with the second round on Tuesday, so at this point six days left for potentially 5 doubles and 3 singles matches.

No problem as far as the singles is concerned, she gets the first match on a day where a lot of rain is expected again. But instead of putting Sugiama's match first, they keep her as the 3rd match, the doubles programmed as 5th, hence a virtual certainty not to be played today.

Conclusion, by Wednesday of the second week, with 5 days to go, there could be 5 doubles matches left.

If she were to play the singles final (which in the end, would be hardly surprising, not saying it will happen), another evening match, she'd already be forced to play probably two doubles in one day.

What's behind this? An attempt to have a tired Clijsters at the end of the week, when possibly facing Davenport, Capriati? ;)

Most likely not, but the scheduling is terrible nevertheless :fiery:

The problem is that the Sugiyama match yesterday ended so late that they can't put her first today at 11 am... It's a sort of "rule" that every tournement respect I mean... If you finish at midnight, you have to eat after, get back to your hotel, trying to sleep and relax... No way they can put the match the next day at 11.
